After two years of fantastic Caffeine Crawls through one of the best coffee cities in the U.S., November 17-19 will bring the buzz back to PDX for the biggest Portland Caffeine Crawl yet!

Caffeine Crawl comes back to Portland in the biggest Crawl yet to hit the city! Nine routes will explore the cafe culture of Portland neighborhoods on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with your choice of transportation ”biking, walking or driving. The Caffeine Crawl Portland Cold Brew Competition Friday night will put local roasters and cafes head to head, and your vote counts as we sip our way to the best glass of cold brew in Portland ”cold brew tea and signature drinks are just a few of the categories! Teaming up with The LAB and Barista Magazine, Groundwork Coffee will host the competition, with coffee ale from Rogue Ales & Spirits winding down the evening. Two one hour sessions give you time to taste all the entries, vote, grab a beer and head out to the rest of your Friday night in a happy uppers-and-downers trance.

Never been to a Caffeine Crawl before? Grab your travel mug and get ready ”a swag bag full of take home treats, samples and cool demos at each stop, and a city full of passionate coffee, tea, and chocolate professionals await. Matt Eyman, Community Manager for Yelp Portland, shares that, œas Portland’s coffee community continues to innovate and grow, it’s exciting to watch The Caffeine Crawl do the same. Every year seems to offer more. The addition of each new shop and the creation of each new route is an opportunity for attendees to learn a new story about passionate locals who use their love of coffee to elevate Portland’s entire beverage culture. Yelp loves to sponsor the Caffeine Crawl because it’s really a celebration of the innovative and collaborative spirit that defines Portland’s success.

Caffeine Crawl doesn’t just celebrate the coffee: tea, chocolate, juice, and other craft beverages are all part of the experience. Heather Agosta, owner of The Jasmine Pearl and Pearl Soda Co., explains how she sees a lot of similarities between the coffee and tea industries in Portland. œPortlanders are either already pretty savvy about their craft beverages, or they are very eager to learn. There is a culture of openness about tea and coffee people in Portland that makes them curious about the stories and the process behind it all.

Heather is excited for The Jasmine Pearl to host routes on this year’s Caffeine Crawl; œWe get to meet food and drink adventurers from all over the country who are genuinely excited to explore all that Portland has to offer. The Crawl also brings locals in who normally don’t make it to this part of town. For attendees, the Caffeine Crawl offers a great mix of makers and purveyors who really demonstrate the hard work and excellence that goes into our coffee and tea scene. Allison Raber, Specialty Coffee Sales & Training Manager at Urnex, will also be joining the Portland buzz: œWhen I attend Caffeine Crawl events I get the vibe of a city and an overall sense of specialty coffee’s role within that market.

In addition to caffeinated beverages at each stop along the way, Caffeine Crawl ticket holders will receive exclusive discounts with Zipcar, Boxo Coffee  subscription programs, swag from Wholesome Sweeteners, Chemex and more. The beverage game is on point, the cafe owners are prepared, and the experience awaits: get your ticket at caffeinecrawl.com, and we’ll see you at Caffeine Crawl Portland!

A KCMO native loving life in Fort Collins, Colo., she spends most of her time drinking extravagant amounts of coffee and planning the next  Caffeine Crawl  for  The LAB. When she’s not on a plane to a beverage destination, you can find her conducting research at a local brewery or pouring the occasional latte behind the bar at  Everyday Joe’s Coffeehouse. After she lets her dog take her for a long, vivacious walk around the neighborhood, she likes to soak up some mountain magic and wind down with a good cocktail.
