For so many reasons, 2013 has been a wonderful year in coffee. But as with any year, there have been sadnesses and heartbreaks. This year was particularly painful for the loss of two bright stars in our community, Christina Furr and Emelyne Smith, both of whom passed at far-too-early ages in the month of August.
We wrote about Christina, and about Emelyne, that month, and thousands of you read our stories. We hope they brought you comfort.
Christina’s and Emelyne’s families are surviving, living on. But let’s take a long moment before the passing of 2013 to close our eyes and remember them once again.
