Our pal Dylan Jung of Aesthetic Coffee is putting together a barista jam in Asheville, North Carolina, with Lindsay Lee of Counter Culture. Y’all should go! Here are the details:
We’re helping to organize a Southeastern Barista Jam. A Barista Jam, is a chance for coffee industry folks to meet and greet, as well as have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and love for the craft. Here is some of what you can look forward to:
~ Brew Station Demos – Featuring various pour-over devices, with an instructor for each.
~ Espresso Demos – Espresso and latte art demos.
~ Coffee Cocktail Construction – Ideas and tools to build delicious signature beverages.
~ Cupping Triangulation – Test your taste buds, name the coffees, and win a prize.
~ Latte Art Throwdown – Friendly latte art competition at the end of the night, with a focus on sharing techniques for improving skills.
Most demo and educational activities are for any interested baristas, as well as folks looking to improve their skills, even if you don’t currently work in a shop.
This is your chance to expand your palette in various coffees, brew methods and techniques. Spread the word!
