The World Barista Championship is just around the corner (and surely if you’ve been on the blog at all here this week, you’ve noticed a huge number of posts about it as we start our coverage of next week’s event.) We’ve begun with our Q&As with every national champion who will be competing in Rimini, Italy, and as the week progresses we’ll work through the whole list of champions alphabetically by country.

But that doesn’t stop it being Wednesday, and when Wednesday rolls around it means it’s time for a little thing we like to call Humpday Giveaway, our weekly trivia contest for awesome prizes (and fun!). Ok, though, what does stop Humpday Giveaway is our office being pretty much closed as we head to Italy for the aforementioned WBC, that means next week, no Humpday. Don’t be sad though, that just means this week’s prize has to be extra-special, and believe me, it is!

To celebrate the 2014 World Barista Championship, we have a prize from the Tamper Sponsor himself, the tamperman Reg Barber!

Up for grabs for this week’s winner is this awesome 58mm tamper with a handle made of designer acrylic!

To celebrate the WBC we’re not only giving away this tamper, but we will ship it anywhere. So this contest is open to everyone!  Reg commissioned an artist on Vancouver Island to make a limited run of these, so playing Humpday Giveaway may be your only chance to get one!

Before we can play, however, we need to have our quick review of the rules (and then of course, we’ll need a question), so keep reading..

First up, here are the rules:

Humpday Giveaway Rules

”Answer the trivia question by referencing the  current issue of Barista Magazine  (June + July 2014). You can look at the whole issue for free online by going  HERE.

”Leave  YOUR ANSWER  plus your  FIRST and LAST NAMES, as well as  YOUR COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE, in the blog comments section.  

”Answers may be submitted between  7  a.m. PDT on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, through 6:59 a.m. PDT on Thursday, June 5, 2014.

”The names of those who submitted the correct answer will be entered into a drawing, and  Barista Magazine  will randomly select a  winner, which will be announced on  Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 10 a.m. PDT  right here on the  Barista Magazine  blog.
