BMag Back Atcha “ Week of June 23 “29, 2014

Hello and welcome to our weekly blog in review post, BMag Back Atcha where we link to all of the stories on our blog this week in one easy-to-use post! So in case you’ve missed anything this week when you’ve stopped by (or haven’t had a chance to stop by) the BMag blog you’ll find everything we posted right here. Enough with the warmups, let’s get reviewing!

First up, we had a story right out of HGTV, or Kansas City, where the awesome coffee company PT’s Coffee Roasting Co.  did a complete reno on their new cafe space and completed a build out in just three days! Amazing! You can read about it right here:
Café Flipping: PT’s Coffee is ready for it’s own TV Show

When Blue Star Coffee Roasters‘  Meg Donohue approached us about sponsoring her company’s 509 Barista Jam, we were happy to say “Yes and what else can we do?” Meg and her company put on an awesome jam out in Eastern Washington, and we’ve got a two-part story on the event. The first installment is right here:
Great Coffee In Eastern Washington: The 509 Barista Jam, Part 1

That brought us to the midweek special, and here at Barista Magazine, that means it was time for Humpday Giveaway, our weekly trivia contest for fun and prizes. This week we had a prize pack from Taf Coffee  in Athens, Greece. The company is home to this year’s Brewers Cup World Champion, the WBC Third Place winner, and the SCAE Lifetime Achievement award winner. Talk about a trifecta! So they were happy to share their success with one of our lucky readers this week.

And on Thursday we had the second part of our 509  Barista Jam (a truly excellent adventure) And hey, if you feel like doing something similar where you are, let us know! We’d be happy to help you out!

This story about a new Kickstarter project,  the  Cafflano, the brainchild of Hansang Yoo, who is just a regular guy who loves coffee. Hansang didn’t like travel brew kits that had lots of components,  so he created the Cafflano, an all-in-one travel pour over. Seriously, this is so cool! You’ve got to check it out!
The Coffee Cup That Can Do Everything (Except Fold Your Laundry)

Saturday we had the first in a new series about cold coffee. It’s summertime (in the Northern Hemisphere anyway) and sales of cold coffee are way up! Oh, and it’s delicious! So we’re going a little deep on the subject. Our first installment is right here:
Completely Cold Brew: Part 1 of a series
