Barista Magazine’s October+November Issue Is Out!

Welcome to our latest issue ”October+November 2014.

We are so excited about this issue! We worked hard to pack it with education and science, adventures from around the world,  profiles of some amazing  coffee leaders, and super relevant business ideas for running your cafe. Add to that our news, product, and events sections, our calendar, and of course, our wonderful advertisers, this issue of Barista Magazine is one of our best ever!

Barista Mag Publisher Kenneth Olson went to Amsterdam for a cafe tour with reigning Netherlands Barista Champ Coen van Sprang. Ken attended graduate school at the University of Amsterdam, so it was especially exciting for him to see how much the city's specialty coffee culture has developed since he lived there.

Joe Schafran of Toby's Estate in Brooklyn traveled to Honduras to paint schools that serve the children of pickers on farms owned by the famous Caballeros. This collaboration between the Caballeros and Toby's resulted in a fabulous coffee. Toby's raised thousands of dollars for the development of the schools.

Jess Steffy! We chose to profile and celebrate Jess Steff, who co-owns Square One Coffee in Pennsylvania with her husband, because she is a role model as a cafe owner, businesswoman, barista, mentor, judge, and person. We think she's just fabulous.
