UAE Has First Barista Champion

The United Arab Eremites held its first national competition over the weekend in the capital of Dubai at the nation’s Specialty Coffee & Tea Convention. The winner was Vikram Kashyap, the 29-year-old manager of a local branch of Caribou Coffee. Vikram is an immigrant to Dubai from India. You can read a local news account of the new champion here.

Vikram sounds excited to go to London for the 2010 WBC, and so am I. See you there!
