Seattle Activities This Weekend: Scavenger Hunt and Parties!

Another Coffee Fest Seattle is upon us, it seems, and not a moment too soon! Coffee Fest Seattle is just the most awesome show for indie cafe retailers that we know of: accessible, great products and vendors, and always lots of fun activities surrounding the event to occupy your thirst for nightlife in this awesome, beautiful city.

So here are some details about the goings-on this weekend up north… stay tuned here and to our pals at Sprudge for any new developments or changes. And we’ll see ya in Seattle!

Friday, October 29

7 a.m. ”Scavenger Hunt kick-off! Sarah Dooley of Espresso Parts and Mark Pfaff of Victrola Coffee have gone above and beyond in organizing what should be a totally fun and unique barista activity in the form of a good old fashioned scavenger hunt. Beginning at 7 a.m., scavenger hunters can pick up the scavenger hunt map at Victrola Coffee Roaster, 310 East Pike Street (VERY close to Convention Center). Maps can be picked up any time after 7 a.m. this day, and used to play through the end of the hunt, which concludes at 7 p.m. on Saturday. Anyone and everyone is invited to participate in the scavenger hunt, which will take participants around the town to various cafes where they must answer trivia questions. The person with the most correct answers on Saturday night, back at Victrola where the Brew Ha Ha party will be taking place, will be announced as the winner at the party! And they’ll receive some hecka cool prizes, of course.

8 a.m. “Noon ”New World Latte Art Championship, taking place on the sky bridge inside the Washington State Convention Center. This competition pits a whopping 64 baristas in head-to-head combat, latte art style. Baristas are coming from all over the country, and heck, world, to participate in this high energy, fun milk free-for-all. To check out the lineup, go HERE and click on “Bracket is Here for 2010”.

12 “5 p.m. ”Trade show floor open. Come visit Barista Magazine‘s booth, #629!!

5 p.m. ”Opening Night Reception, hosted by Coffee Fest. Attendees and exhibitors are invited to Von’s Martini Bar, 619 Pike Street, immediately following the close of the show floor, for what is an always-awesome gathering of coffee people.

8 p.m. ”Party at Trabant Coffee! Mosey on down to Trabant‘s downtown location (602 Second Ave) for the opportunity to catch up with all your coffee and barista pals. Kegs, liquor, and a taco bar are on the menu, as well as the debut of the new espresso blend, Tunnel #20! Sprudgies tell us that some throwdown dealios will be happening, as well as costume contests and plenty o prizes.

Saturday, October 30

8 a.m. “Noon: New World Latte Art Championship resumes.

12 “5 p.m.: Trade show floor open.

7 p.m. ”Brew Ha Ha: Party at Victrola Coffee Roaster, 310 East Pike. Arrive at 7 to sign up for the brewing competitions and latte art smackdown to be taking place throughout the evening. Competitions begin at 7:45 p.m. Musical guest Token Folk will be playing, and costumes are encouraged! At 9:35 p.m., the finals for both the brewing competition and the latte art smackdown will begin, and not only that, but a Costume Walk Off will take place! All winners will be announced between 10 and 10:15 p.m.

10ish p.m. ”Sprudge.com Boozapalooza: Immediately following the Victrola party, head half a block down the hill to the Six Arms Pub at 300 East Pike. Sprudgies will be hosting a meet and greet, with happy hour drink specials and the opportunity to get your very own Frothy Gossip tshirt!

Sunday, October 31 ”HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Finals of the New World Latte Art Championship: to take place in the morning before the show floor opens, we think beginning at 10 a.m. but PLEASE, double check the time at the Convention Center.

12 “4 p.m.: Trade show floor open

After 4 p.m.: Get home and start handing out candy to trick or treaters so your house doesn’t get egged.

  1. The latte art Championship looks like fun exspecially with a 2,500 first prize. Looks like you got your hands full with more than enough to do. Those happy hour drinks at six arms pub sounds like one party to the next! Cheers.
