Coffee Kid Wants to Change the World!

So there’s this kid named Tatum Barber ”sound familiar? That’s because she’s the grand-daughter of tamper magician Reg Barber, and daughter of Julia, who is Reg’s right-hand woman at the company. It seems Tatum has caught the coffee bug that runs in her family, and is hosting a latte art throwdown to raise money for Coffee Kids.

The fundraiser, which will donate proceeds to Coffee Kids ”the non profit focused on improving the lives of children on coffee farms ”will be held on June 16 at 7 p.m., at Discovery Coffee, 664 Discovery St., in Victoria, B.C. The buy-in for the latte art comp is just $5, and the event will also feature a live band and a silent auction.

In addition to the standard throwdown fare (prizes, coffee bragging rights, and a good time), the silent auction that Tatum is planning will be a real crowd draw. For more information about the event, contact Julia Barber at 250/893-7759.

  1. I like these kind of inventive, creative fund-raisers to get people motivated and thinking. Much more fun than a plastic bucket hanging around the office coffee machine.
