As I’ve been blogging about lately—since it’s awesome and groundbreaking and important and cool—the U.S. Latte Art Exhibition is the first step toward the U.S. having a seat at the World Latte Art Championship table. This competition gets more and more esteemed all the time, and it’s high time the United States had an entry on the international stage! From April 11 to 13 in Boston at the SCAA Conference. the U.S. Latte Art Exhibition will pull out all the stops in getting this competition format down. The hope is that, after successfully pulling this Exhibition off in Boston, the United States will have an official U.S. Latte Art Championship in 2014, from which we’ll send the champion to compete on behalf of the country at the World Latte Art Championship taking place in Gothenburg, Sweden.
So that’s cool and everything, being a part of history in the making and all. But how about the awesome prize package that the winner of the U.S. Latte Art Exhibition in Boston will get to take home?? It’s worth more than $6000 altogether, and is essentially an incredibly pro home barista set-up:
• A Dalla Corte Mini espresso machine
• A Mahlkönig ProM grinder
• Bar supplies for Prima
• AND PRIZES FROM ESPRESSO PARTS, WE JUST FOUND OUT! HOW COOL IS THAT?? Espresso Parts will actually supply prizes for all three of the top finishers—more info on what those prizes are to come soon.
So if you didn’t get the message when I posted about the U.S. Latte Art Exhibition yesterday (and a few weeks ago), sign up already! This competition will take place in the Activity Hall right alongside the U.S. Barista Championship, the U.S. Brewers Cup, and the U.S. Cup Tasters Championship. Hop to it and register today by going HERE!
