Tips from Nicely Alameda, Peregrine Espresso, and more!

Gotta give it up for Sarah’s dad, Steve Allen, for once again supplying us with some reportage: Dad just emailed me a link to a pretty cool little video put together by Blue Ribbon Hunter, an online video series featuring a chipper chef who explores such pressing world issues as how cheeseballs are made, and dining while blindfolded. But seriously, this is a pretty well done little video about the recent Coffee Fest New York show, where not only the ever-popular Latte Art Championship was held, but also the America’s Best Coffeehouse Competition. In only its second installment (the contest premiered at Coffee Fest Seattle last fall), the America’s Best Coffeehouse Competition is quickly gaining traction and attracting top cafe owners to its team format.

I like this video a lot: there is a discussion with the winners of the Coffee Fest New York America’s Best Coffeehouse winners, Peregrine Espresso of Washington, D.C.

It also features latte art grand pooba Nicely Alameda giving a step-by-step demo on how to pour a heart.
