Barista Mag: Before coffee, did you work in a different job or industry, or what did you study in school?

Doddy: I have never worked in a different industry than coffee. Education: Faculty of Philosophy at Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta Indonesia

BMag: How did you get started in coffee?

Doddy: Incidentally.

BMag: What was your first amazing experience with coffee?

Doddy: The first time I drank Geisha from Panama Esmeralda.

BMag: Who has been your greatest influence in coffee? Why?

Doddy: All the WBC Champions since 2007, and Stephen Leighton, Tim Wendelboe, and Klaus Thomsen.

BMag: What would you like to see change about the coffee industry/community?

Doddy: I would like to see people educated more about coffee so they will choose better quality  to drink.

BMag: Name a coffee luminary (famous person) you would like to meet, and why:

Doddy: All of the past WBC Chamions. 

BMag: Do you have a favorite customer? If so, tell us about him or her.

Doddy: My favorite customer is Henky. He always asks for capp or latte only from me. He works as an interior contractor near my cafe. Usually he comes in the morning, and he comes almost everyday. He likes golf so much.

BMag: Besides your own cafe, what cafe do you think everyone should visit?

Doddy: Kedai Kopi Espresso Bar. This was the place I first learned about coffee and being a barista.

BMag: Which coffee producing country you would like to visit, and why?

Doddy: Panama.

BMag: What are your interests outside of coffee?

Doddy: Philosophy.

BMag: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Doddy: I’ll be a philosopher for the coffee industry.

BMag: Is there anyone you would like to thank or who helped you prepare for the WBC?

Doddy: All of the One Fifteenth crew, my trainers Andrew Tang and Arief Said, the Specialty Coffee Association of Indonesia,and all the people in the Indonesian coffee industry.
