Happy opening day to our friends at Taylor Maid Farms in Sebastopol, California. For those of you not familiar with that area of Northern California, it’s some of the most beautiful land I’ve ever seen, hitched right alongside the famous Napa Valley.
The doors to Taylor Maid Farms’ Organic Coffee Bar & Roastery at The Barlow in Sebastopol opened this morning.
Reclaimed wood and exposed metal combine to form an industrial vibe in the 7,200 square foot Coffee Bar & Roastery. The build-out began in May 2012 and has incorporated ample reclaimed wood from owner Chris Martin’s farm in Occidental, California.
In keeping with The Barlow’s theme of showcasing food production, coffee connoisseurs visiting Taylor Maid’s new cafe may observe roasting and packaging from the coffee bar’s mezzanine level. As a community resource for coffee education, Taylor Maid Farms’ new location features regular coffee tastings, public tours, and barista training classes.
The menu highlights espresso-based-beverages and hand-brewed coffee along with sweet and savory treats from local vendors such as Criminal Baking Co. and Howards Café. All drinks are 100% organic and feature ingredients from Straus Family Creamery and Tcho Chocolate.
While the company began offering espresso drinks last year at a small cart in their retail store, this is Taylor Maid Farms’ first full size coffee bar since its founding in 1993.
œWith the undertaking of the Coffee Bar at Barlow, we have an opportunity to share what we love and build a deeper connection with the community that has supported us all these years, explains General Manager Rob Daly.
Director of Retail and Education, Alisse McBratney says, œI am thrilled to finally see the fruits of this labor and the amount of passion and heart we have put into building this department of Taylor Maid Farms has been incredibly exciting.
The Coffee Bar is located at 6790 McKinley Avenue, Suite 170 and will be open Monday through Thursday from 6am-7pm, Friday and Saturday from 6am-9pm, and Sunday from 7am-7pm.
