Knock-down, Drag-out, Aussie style!

Our friends at Single Origin Roasters are hosting a totally cool Barista Throwdown  with La Marzocco on November 8 in Sydney, Australia. Seriously, I wanna buy a plane ticket. We’ll be there in spirit however, with a prize for the winner, though a one-year subscription to Barista Mag might pale in comparison to the other prize: A freakin’ La Marzocco GS/3!! Anyone can go for the low ticket price of $20 ”get your tickets here.

Hot damn.
Hot damn.

Here are the rest of the deets:

Approximately 40 competitors, from coffee companies across Sydney, will take part in the throwdown.

Designed to unite the passionate and skilled Sydney speciality coffee industry, the throwdown competition will feature a series of twists and challenges that will set it apart from other barista competitions. Fun elements have been incorporated into the competition mechanics to make it both challenging, and also keep it casual and social.

œWe are very excited to be a part of this fantastic event for the Sydney coffee community. La Marzocco equipment is specifically designed with the barista in mind, so it will be great to have some of the Sydney’s best put our machines to the test says La Marzocco’s Kath Herron.

This handsome (get it?) guy will be live and in person in Sydney to emcee the La Marzocco Barista Throwdown!
