Congratulations to the winner of the 2011 Camp Pull-A-Shot Scholarship Program, ANDERSON STOCKDALE! Anderson is a barista from New Orleans who proved her dedication to the barista craft in her awesome video submission. If you haven’t already seen it, check it out here!
Twenty-three videos were submitted by baristas who wanted to go to the amazing Camp Pull-A-Shot, a retreat for professional baristas being held for the second year in a row in Santa Barbara, California. Though the Barista Guild of America—which hosts this event annually—has done a fantastic job in keeping the price down to under $600 for BGA members. (Go HERE for pricing information) Camp will take place this year from October 24–27.
Still, that plus airfare, plus time off work, can be a daunting amount for a working barista. So Barista Magazine is thrilled to be working with the BGA and Marcus Boni of the SCAA to provide this opportunity to one deserving barista to attend Camp for free!
The members of the Barista Guild of America Executive Council watched all the videos closely and tallied their votes. Theirs was a pretty tough job, as all the videos were outstanding.
Anderson wins the big prize—all travel, room and board, plus registration fees, to Camp this year, and of course, a complimentary subscription to Barista Magazine.
But we have two other winners, as well:
In second place, and winner of $100 off Camp registration, plus a subscription to Barista Magazine, is MACALLIE ATKINSON!!
And in third place, and winner of a BGA track jacket, plus a subscription to Barista Magazine, is PATRICK HUGHES!!
There are still spots available at this year’s Camp Pull-A-Shot, so sign up now for what will be one of the most educational and fun coffee experiences you could hope for. See you at Camp!
