Welcome to Sunday on the Barista Magazine blog where we have our weekly all-in-one wrap up post we call BMag Back Atcha. Here you can find links to all of the posts we did this week so you can make sure you didn’t miss anything.

To start the week week we had the results from the Big Central competition in Minneapolis, Minn. where baristas from the South Central and North Central regions competed in the regionals for barista competitions and brewers cup as they work toward the national championships in Seattle in April.

Then we had a story on former cover barista  Ryan Jensen  and his company’s educational efforts. After doing quite well on the competition circuit for a while, Ryan and his wife opened  Peregrine Espresso  a stone’s throw from the White House in 2008. Peregrine is offering  two new classes aimed at educating consumers on the finer points of coffee preparation.  Here’s the story:

Next up was a story from our friends at  Nuova Simonelli ”which is celebrating the final year of its second contract as the Official Espresso Machine Sponsor of the World Barista Championship ”about their efforts at the HOST Milano show last week in Italy with numerous world champion baristas on hand to help out.

The guys from  Alpha Dominche  are hitting the road next week to travel the western United States in an effort to showcase the Steampunk MOD 2.1 with the new operating system which runs off a Google Nexus 7 app. It sounds awesome, and if you can check it out, it’s wholly recommended that you do so!  Punks on the Run!

Speaking of doing things out west, on November 16, if you’re in Northern California, you should definitely be  hitting the 8-year anniversary party of  Temple Coffee  in the California capital city of Sacramento! Here’s the story:

Finally next week begins the Barista & Farmer Coffee Reality show in Puerto Rico where 15 Italian baristas will live and work on a coffee farm finding out firsthand what it takes to bring a crop to market and more. It’s bound to be fun, educational and let’s face it with this crew pretty crazy! You can find out more about the show here, but the big news this week is that you can vote for your favorite barista and help them gain an advantage in the challenges on the farm.
