We’re super excited to be here at the Gateway to the West—otherwise known as St. Louis, Missouri—for Coffee Fest! There is so much going on in coffee in this part of the country. We appreciate that Coffee Fest made the great decision to book a show here so that Barista Magazine had a great excuse to fly out and meet the great baristas and cafe owners here!
Coffee Fest St. Louis begins today and lasts through Sunday, June 1. The show hours are 12–5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 12–4 p.m. on Sunday, and it all takes place at the Cervantes Convention Center. But there’s a lot going on before the show floor even opens—Latte Art Championship, anyone? The Coffee Fest Latte Art Championships are simply the biggest and most exciting events of their kind in the world, and they draw baristas from Japan, Taiwan, Germany, Korea, and of course, from all over the United States, every single time they’re held.
Whether you’re one of the 60+ baristas vying for the $2,000 prize—and bragging rights, of course—or you’re a latte art enthusiast, this competition is always one of the greatest showcases of latte art prowess we know of. Barista Magazine’s own Sarah Allen has been a judge of this competition for more than eight years, and she’ll be joined by fellow judges Matt Milletto of the American Barista & Coffee School, and Anna Gutierrez of Gourmet Source each morning this weekend to narrow the field to he best drink of the weekend.
Hours for the Latte Art Championship are 9 a.m. Friday, 10 a.m. Saturday, and 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The competition takes place directly in front of the entrance to the show floor inside the convention center.
Of course, we hope you’ll stop by Barista Magazine’s booth during Coffee Fest St. Louis to say hello—you can find us at booth #300. And post! We’ll be hosting a show special that will give you a great deal on the price for a new subscription or renewal!
There’s a ton going on this weekend at Coffee Fest St. Louis, included the America’s Best Coffeehouse Competition, and the America’s Best Espresso Competition—be sure to plan enough time to see it all!
See y’all soon in St. Louis!
