Summer Jam

Back when I was a music critic for The Oakland Tribune in the San Francisco Bay Area, there was an annual concert in August at the Concord Pavilion that I would inevitably have to review called Summer Jam, and I dreaded it. Though it actually has a tempting kitch feel when I think about it now… Anyway, I’m here to tell you about a 100% cool kind of summer jam taking place on Friday, August. 12, in Ashland, Oregon: Noble Coffee Roasting is hosting a Barista Jam!

Watch out for this guy: Caleb Peterson, one of Noble's owners and a pro barista in his own right, works the Marzocco at Noble. Photo borrrowed from the Oregonian's website.

They’re calling it the State of Jefferson Barista Jam, and it’s happening from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Noble Coffeehouse, located at 281 4th Street in Ashland.

There will be a Latte Art Competition, with prizes for best latte vessel. Also, don’t miss the Manual Brew Competition, and the Blind Taste Test.

And of course, there will be pizza and beer. $10.
