The United Arab Eremites held its first national competition over the weekend in the capital of Dubai at the nation’s Specialty Coffee & Tea Convention. The winner was Vikram Kashyap, the 29-year-old manager of a local branch of Caribou Coffee. Vikram is an immigrant to Dubai from India. You can read a local news account of the new champion here.

Maybe it should be of note that Vikram was also the 2007 Barista Champion of India and competed in the 2007 WBC in Tokyo. An all around great guy and excellent competitor.
