I was mesmerized watching this short video about artist Avi Roth, an amazing abstract expressionist whose latest Los Angeles gallery show, Coffeegraph, is comprised entirely of art made with the textures of coffee.
Presented by Think Tank Gallery and the L.A. Coffee Club, the show last almost the entire month of December and includes a Pop-Up Coffee Bar that will feature some of the best coffee roasters in Southern California, including Stumptown, Caffe Vita, Demitasse, Open Roast, Bar Nine, and Compelling and Rich.
La Marzocco generously contributed a Strada MP2 to the Pop-Up, and baristas working the bar are also doing pourovers.
The L.A. Coffee Club ”a dynamic and visionary group of local coffee professionals who want to keep the momentum of their region’s coffee community development going ”has arranged a series of events taking place through December 21 to celebrate Roth’s work and the coffee culture of Los Angeles, including coffee table conversations and workshops, live music and performance art, discussion panels, and more. Adam from the L.A. Coffee Club tells me that the goal of the ongoing event is to spark creative discussion over a cup of craft coffee.
If you’re anywhere near Southern California, this unprecedented event is not to be missed. You can buy a Coffee Pass for $25 that will get you all-access to paid events and as much of these beautiful coffees as you can drink throughout the exhibition. Or you can buy tickets per event.
