Away we go!

Ken and I are hustling around the house getting the last bits and pieces together for our trip to Iceland today! We fly from Portland to Seattle, then Seattle direct to Reykjavik on Icelandair ”hooray!

The only sthing that sucks about Icelandair is that our miles don't transfer, so no upgrades for us. Boo.

In case you missed me blathering and blogging on and on and on about how awesome the Nordic Barista Cup in, we’re headed to that very event in Reykjavik, which begins Wednesday night and concludes in the wee hours of Sunday morning. Ken and I will stay an extra day to go horseback riding with Sonja, Jose, Guido, and other coffee luminaries, stop for a soak in the Blue Lagoon on the way to the airport on Monday, and be headed home.

Iceland's Blue Lagoon REALLY LOOKAS LIKE THIS. It's one of the most magical places I've ever been. And lord knows, I'll need me some healing waters after the Nordic Barista Cup Gala Party on Saturday night.

I know I’ve said it a zillion times, but the Nordic Barista Cup is the absolute coolest, craziest coffee event in the world, imho. Ken and I are going, as we do every year, to work for the Nordic Barista Cup organization and blog about all the activities and nuttiness, which this year will see us in both the city of Reykjavik and out in the countryside in wild Iceland.

Oh, I can't WAIT!
Oh, I can't WAIT!

Our regular blog posts will begin on Thursday morning, Reykjavik time, which is 7 hours ahead of PST. You can see our posts here and also at nordicbaristacup.com. Oh, and check out the Coffee Collective’s blog, as well, as Klaus has said he’ll write when he can, too. Enjoy!
