Well, the Big Central has concluded. For better or for worse, the new format has officially been tried out, and we have the top six from the South Central and North Central Barista Competitions, plus the top three from the South Central and North Central Brewers Cups. Cheers to all! Cheers especially to the totally awesome hosts, Cafe Imports and Curtis, who put on this event in Minneapolis this weekend.
For the first time ever, there was no finals round for the barista competitions ”these are the top three scores from everybody who competed this weekend, regardless of who judged them. This made things a little strange for the top three in the North Central especially, as they came within a point and a half of each other. A POINT AND A HALF! Anyway, at the end of the day, we have two guys are are pretty flippin’ stoked to have won not only the titles, but a trip to Ecuador with Origin Trip Sponsor Cafe Imports! Whooo hoo!
