BMag Back Atcha “ Week of November 11 “17, 2013

It’s been another newsy week in our coffee world! If you missed any of the daily, original news posts we’ve featured here on Barista Magazine’s blog, well, then grab a cup of coffee and curl up for some catch-up. All the quick links to every post we published this last week can be found below…

On  Sunday, we continued our extensive coverage of the Barista & Farmer project that took place for the first week of November in Puerto Rico. Barista & Farmer found 15 Italian baristas living and working at Hacienda San Pedro, a coffee farm where production and farming education was taught, and the baristas participated in challenges all week long. After our exciting coverage of the Moscow Coffee and Tea Expo, which took place in early October, we featured a video on the blog on Monday  where the entire event was summarized, including the exciting presenters such as Fritz Storm, Sonja Grant, Colin Harmon, and others. Find the post HERE.

We are super stoked to be the media sponsor of the newly formed Northwest Latte Art League, which had its second community gathering in Seattle on Saturday, November 9. On Monday, we featured a sort article from organizer Cole McBride about the successful event, as well as gorgeous photos by Hiroko Ebizaki. See the post HERE.

In our final  Monday post, we featured the Barista & Farmer project in Puerto Rico as it came to a close, and the Italians reflected on what an amazing experience they had had at Hacienda San Pedro. See the post HERE.

On Tuesday,  our friend Michael Butterworth contributed a great article about the super awesome and totally exciting Kentucky versus Tennessee Latte Art Throwdown that took place in Bowling Green on Thursday, November 7, which raised a bunch of money for charity. See the post HERE.

Wednesday was, of course, Humpday Giveaway time on Barista Magazine’s blog, and we excitedly watched as 87 readers entered to win a sweet set of latte art pitchers from Visions Espresso. Be sure to come back this week on Wednesday to play for another awesome prize! Find the post HERE.

Also on Thursday, Barista Magazine Publisher Kenneth R. Olson wrote a captivating essay about what a new thoroughfare in India is meaning for coffeehouse culture. To read it, go HERE.

On  Friday, we were stoked to share news and photos from the La Marzocco Barista Throwdown that our friends in Sydney, Australia, Single Origin, hosted. See Michael Phillips as emcee by going HERE.
