Portland’s Coava Coffee Celebrates Its 6th Anniversary, and also releases special coffee soap

Happy 6th birthday to our pals at Coava Coffee Roasters here in Portland, Oregon! As one of the darlings of the specialty coffee scene in both the United States and internationally, Coava has had a busy year and thus has a lot to celebrate now: Coava opened its second shop this year, saw some significant staff changes, and has charged ahead stronger and better than ever.

Coava Coffee will celebrate its 6th anniversary on Saturday (that's right ”tomorrow!) and you're invited!

Oh, so you want to know about this soap thing, right? Well, it’s no secret that Coava owner, Matt Higgins, loves to fish. But how do you get that stinky fishy smell off your hands? Coava has collaborated with Roots Soap Co. to create a Fisherman’s Soap featuring anise and Salvadoran coffee, which will launch on July 14.

This Fisherman's soap is a collaboration between Coava and Roots Soap Co., both Portland companies.

Roots Soap Co. was started in 2010 by Anna Cools, a second generation soap maker, with the intent of making a good product that everyone needs even better. All the soaps are handmade using the cold process method, with 100% natural ingredients, essential oils, and rainwater.

The Fisherman’s Soap will be available through both Coava locations (1300 SE Grand Ave and 2631 SE Hawthorne Blvd), and online at www.coavacoffee.com
