In 2021, the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) launched the Coffee Retail Summit. The free virtual event helped retailers navigate the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic and other threats.

After holding two installments of the event in 2021, the SCA is bringing back the Coffee Retail Summit for 2022. The new edition will feature a new array of retailer-focused programming including presentations, lectures, and panel discussions. The Summit will span three days: February 21, 23, and 25.

Content Tailored to 2022

Topics addressed at the Coffee Retail Summit 2022 will include “insights for companies considering international expansion, profiles of brands using new technology to deepen their in-person and digital relationships with customers, and strategies for building a healthy workplace culture in the coming months and years,” according to the SCA’s website.

The Coffee Retail Summit 2022 will “explore how coffee retail businesses can use their unique position as hubs for connection, learning, and personal expression to overcome obstacles, adapt, and grow,” according to the SCA.

The content and speakers over the Coffee Retail Summit 2022’s three days will be tailored to different markets. The Summit’s first day—Monday, February 21—will focus on the European coffee market. The the next day, Wednesday, February 23, will explore coffee in the United States. The Summit’s final day on Friday, February 25, will examine the coffee retail landscape of Korea.

Coffee retailers can attend all three days of content at the event, not just the one corresponding to their market. And each day will include a participatory element. “Attendees may opt to participate in all three days of the live summit, during which time presenters will take questions from the audience and attendees will engage in conversation via live chat,” reads the SCA website, “or they may choose to narrow their scope to the day that corresponds to the region of greatest interest to them.”

A Free Resource for Retailers

The Summit is free to attend via the support of sponsors. Astoria is the global title sponsor of the Coffee Retail Summit 2022. BWT Global sponsored day one. Pacific Foods Barista Series is sponsoring day two. And lead sponsor Nuova Simonelli is also supporting the event.

The Coffee Retail Summit will include a mix of pre-recorded and live lectures and discussions. The content, according to the SCA’s website, “will explore how coffee retail businesses can use their unique position as hubs for connection, learning, and personal expression to overcome obstacles, adapt, and grow.”

Interested attendees can RSVP for the event here. They will then receive updates leading up to the event on speakers, topics, schedules, resources, and more. Additional resources from previous Coffee Retail Summits and other SCA events are available here
