Coffee Shop Playlist: What Our Readers Listened to in January 2025

We asked Barista Magazine Online readers what songs they were loving at their coffee shops this month. Here’s what they said.

The café experience just isn’t complete without a killer playlist, and we wanted to know: What music have you been loving this month? Read on to learn what tracks Barista Magazine Online readers had on repeat at their cafés in January.

1. “365” by Charli XCX

Damgo Coffee Shop of Silay City, Philippines, shares that their January 2025 playlist was packed with high-energy tunes to start the new year right—including “365” by Charli XCX.

“We thought of welcoming in 2025 with upbeat songs that would inspire (us) to get ready for a whole new year,” the café writes to Barista Magazine. Other great tracks on their playlist include “Close to Me” by The Cure and “Stay High” by Childish Gambino and Brittany Howard.

2. “Kingston” by Faye Webster

Imagine Faye Webster’s airy vocals reverberating from the walls as you sip on a freshly brewed cup of coffee, surrounded by the light chatter of café-goers—can it get any better? New Freedom, Pa.’s Departure Coffee shares that Faye’s song “Kingston” has been their café track of choice this month.

3. “Supersonic” by Oasis

Honor, Michigan’s Weldon Coffee shares that one song has been dominating their café playlist this January. “It’s just ‘Supersonic’ by Oasis over and over again,” the team writes. And in our book, any Oasis song is worthy of adding to a café playlist.

4. “Feels So Good” by Chuck Mangione

Barista Magazine Online reader Christian J. Winger shares his pick for January: “Feels So Good” by Chuck Mangione. “(I’ve been listening to) the 10-minute version on repeat,” Christian says.

5. “Got to Give it Up” by Marvin Gaye

“(We have) 12 hours of the most random music possible,” writes Colombus, Ohio’s Royal Flamingo Coffee. Even so, the café’s team has managed to put together a playlist worthy of keeping on repeat, with hits like “Got to Give it Up” by Marvin Gaye, “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac, and “Kiss” by Prince
