Cafexpo, a new and unique opportunity to engage in celebrating and promoting the vibrant coffee culture of Honduras, will launch its inaugural edition next spring in San Pedro Sula. The event aims to bring together the entire length of the coffee supply chain, from coffee producers and coffee production agricultural and equipment providers to exporters, importers, roasters, coffee shops, coffee equipment and suppliers, and baristas, along with coffee enthusiasts, government agencies, NGOs, and industry leaders. It will take place March 21–22, 2025.
The event, a coordinated effort between IHCAFE, USAID through Sustainable Agribusiness, and commercial partners, will feature an exhibition hall, a series of lectures and workshops, and a coffee competition. International participants will have the opportunity to meet coffee producers and arrange origin visits. IHCAFE is a nonprofit coffee-grower organization that supports Honduran coffee producers through technical trainings, promotional work, and other services.
Adilson Avila, IHCAFE’s general manager, emphasized the exciting opportunity presented by Cafexpo, stating, “Honduras is among the top coffee producers globally, and now we’re taking a significant step forward to shine a spotlight on our exceptional coffee culture, producers, and professionals. This is a great moment for us as we host our national coffee event, and we warmly invite the world to come and experience the richness of our coffee heritage.”
“Cafexpo represents a pivotal moment for Honduran coffee producers, uniting tradition with innovation as we showcase our dedication to excellence and sustainability. Together, we are not just cultivating coffee; we are nurturing a bright future for generations to come,” said Benjamin Paz, coffee producer and winner of Cup of Excellence Honduras.
Cafexpo aims to elevate the coffee industry as a whole, from producer to consumer, by bringing international participants, innovation, and the local industry together to learn and do business.
