Let’s Play Barista Magazine’s Humpday Giveaway! #46 (January 22, 2014 Edition)

How’s it already Wednesday? Well, I ain’t complaining. Just can’t believe it’s almost the end of January already! The time flies by when you have as awesome a community of people to serve as we here at Barista Magazine do. And we consider it a great privilege to be able to give back to you for all you do in specialty coffee by hosting our weekly Humpday Giveaway contest!

This week’s Humpday comes with a really cool ”and new ”thing: you guys may remember a Humpday recently where we gave away a few of the Intelligent Dosing Rings (IDR) that our old friend, Costas Pliatsakas of Sweden created?

That's the IDR, clipped onto the top of a portafilter. You clip it on before dosing, and then snap it off (it's super easy), saving coffee grounds that would otherwise have been wasted, and make your shot. It'll save you and your cafe thousands of dollars in waste!

Well, since Costas brought these babies to market ”his big debut was at the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe show in Nice, France, last summer ”he’s been crazy busy with orders and distribution inquiries. People want this product!

He has distributors in Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, and he recently added a distributor in China (Birdie Chiu from Hershey ´s Caffetierra http://www.hershey.hk/) and also… drumroll… the United States! Our friends at 1st-Line will be the exclusive distributors of Costas’ IDRs in the country. You can order them HERE  from 1st_line for $79.

To celebrate this milestone, Costas is being super generous and offering up not only an IDR, but a whole gift pack! It includes and IDR, a bag of Costas’ coffee, and also one of his super-dope aprons. This is a pretty tight prize, yo. And guess what? ANYONE IN THE WORLD is eligible to enter this week.

Here's what you win: an IDR, a bag of Costas' awesome coffee which he roasts in Sweden, and.....
