On Tuesday, we posted episodes one and two of the documentary series about the 24 baristas who traveled to Caldas, Colombia, to learn about coffee, thanks to The Barista League’s Mystery Coffee Vacation. Today, we present the next two episodes!
After winning one of the many Barista League competitions that took place around the world in 2023 and 2024, baristas from 10 countries earned an epic prize: a spot on the Mystery Coffee Vacation 2024! The trip took place in September, with the baristas—many of whom had never visited a coffee farm—spending five days living and working at the specialty coffee farm, Café Tío Conejo, in the department of Caldas, Colombia.
Starting at sunrise each day, the baristas explored the mountainside coffee farm, harvested and processed coffee, learned about packaging and shipping, and shared their thoughts on everything from café work to roasting. Watch the third and fourth videos in the series below, hosted by Emilia Castellanos of the Café Tío Conejo family.
