The Nuova Simonelli Group’s Crowning Event During HOST: Coffee Opera Hipster
Nuova Simonelli is known for going BIG or not going at all: Just look at their track record in the World Barista Championship. Nuova Simonelli was the Official Espresso Machine Sponsor of the WBC beginning in 2009, and continuing through 2014, and now its sister company, Victoria Arduino and the boutique machine, the Black Eagle, have taken the place of the Simonelli Aurelia in the WBC’s center stage.
So when HOST Milan ”the largest hospitality show on the globe, so massive that it only takes over the 28 pavilions of the enormous Fiera Milano once every 2 years ”explodes onto the scene in Italy’s iconic and fashionable city, you can bet that Nuova Simonelli will be among the shiniest of stars in the coffee equipment pavilion.
But what of the parties? HOST is known for the countless, extravagant evening parties. For this, at the 2015 HOST Milan event, which took place October 23 “27, Nuova Simonelli’s creative team wowed the coffee world with an even like no other, called Coffee Opera Hipster.
Nuova Simonelli organized the event in collaboration with Macerata Opera Festival and the Consorzio Marche Spettacolo (the Marche Entertainment Consortium). Opera music was mixed by DJ Nico Note, and pictures of the Sferisterio ”the festival itself ”were projected along the wall of the large reception room at La Triennial to welcome the guests. The evening’s surprise ending was a flash mob created and curated by the artistic director of Macerata Opera Festival, Francesco Micheli. The performance of soprano Tatiana Vanderlei and tenor Ivan De Fabiani, already in the cast of “Rigoletto” last summer in Macerata, was met with thunderous applause.
The Sferisterio was not well known to many of the attendees of Nuova Simonelli’s grand event, and the extravagance of the party was the crowning event in a successful week at HOST. Thousands of operators visited the large space that the Nuova Simonelli Group, and its two brands, Nuova Simonelli and Victoria Arduino, commanded at Fiera Milano over the five-day event.
Special to the company’s stands at HOST were the coffee machines produced in Belforte del Chienti, including an eco-smart Musica, which have been greatly acclaimed for their innovative technology. Among these, there was particular interest in the ‘Espresso management system’ that, based on the wi-fi cloud data transmission, enables the work flow of coffee machines, their trends and their energy consumption to be controlled from PCs, tablets and smartphones. The system was designed by Nuova Simonelli in collaboration with E-Lios, a spin-off from the University of Camerino, another excellence of the Marche region, which was also presented on this occasion by the Belforte company.
