I was having a “staff meeting” with the dog (that means snuggling her on the floor) the other day, staring up at all the Barista Magazine covers we’ve put on the wall, when I realized that our latest issue, June/July 2008, is Barista Magazine’s 20th issue! Wowsers. We couldn’t be happier about the articles and tidbits included in this issue either, beginning with our amazing cover barista, Lem Butler!

Also in this issue: awesome photos of and the stories behind the six USBC finalists’ signature drinks; a travelogue of Peru; Mark Pendergrast’s take on SCAA cupping certification; a story about opening a quality cafe after your hipster 20s are over; Baca’s report from the road to Minneapolis; Brent’s stories about barista championships in Korea and Iceland; L. Clayton’s amazing photos from the coffee pairing dinner in Ithaca at Chris Deferio’s cafe; and much, much, much more!
And thanks to our pals at the Bipartisan Cafe here in Portland, we even managed to get some Barack Obama news into the pub. Here’s a hint:

Your copies of the issue will be arriving in your mailboxes in a week or so, but if you want a sneak peek, check out the June-July Bmag online in its entirety here. Happy summer everyone!
