I clearly remember hearing about Stumptown owner Duane Sorenson’s epic trip to Honduras and Guatemala years back, when he smuggled Gesha beans onto the farms of some great friends: Arturo Aguirre in Guatemala (Finca El Injerto) and Marysabel Caballero in Honduras (Finca El Puente). Duane had gotten the beans from the Gesha royal family, the Petersons in Panama, at Hacienda La Esmeralda.
Now those coffees have grown up: bet you want to taste them as much as I do, huh?
Stumptown is showcasing these amazing coffees in a very special package which you can pre-order now. I have a special advance one, and it’s just too beautiful for words: gorgeous hard box, Stumptown horseshoe tissue paper, a full color fold out map that traces Duane’s road trip through Central America and tells the story of this renegade mission, and three bags of sparkling Gesha roasted to order: one from El Puente, one from El Injerto, and one from Esmeralda.
There’s going to be a special cupping of these coffees this week at Stumptown and I’m so excited to go. Be sure to stay tuned here on the blog for all the deets. And preorder your own Geisha Road Trip package at Stumptown now!
