What’s the Haps, Friday? THE GUIDE

Happy Friday, everyone! Hmm. It feels weird saying that, because usually ‘happy Friday’ refers to that OMG-it’s-almost-the-weekend feeling. But here at the SCAA show in Boston, every day of the four-day event makes us feel giddy! There’s so much to do! Competitions to watch! Exhibitors to visit! Parties to crash!

Here are our suggestions for how to best make use of your day.

Morning: Head out to see up to 18 of the best cafes in Boston on the Caffeine Crawl! For all the details, go HERE!

8 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Stop by the Barista Nation Pop-Up Cafe to get some awesome coffee and hear industry leaders speak on timely coffee topics! For all the details and a schedule of speakers, go HERE! 2nd floor of Expo Center, North Lobby

9 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Roasters Guild Roasters Choice Competition: Members of the Roasters Guild submitted roasted coffee that they have chosen to represent and highlight their roasting skills, prior to the SCAA show. Selected in advance,, the top 10 coffees will be showcased  in this competition. Activity Hall.

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.:  United States Barista Championship Round 1 continued! To find out who’s competing today and at what time, go HERE. Activity Hall.

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.:  United States Brewers Cup Round 1 continued!  To find our who’s competing today and at what time, go HERE. Activity Hall.

11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.: Exhibition Hall open! Be sure to stop by Barista Magazine’s booth #797 to take advantage of the low show special price for subscriptions! Also, pick up a free prize while they last!

11 a.m. to 12 p.m.:  U.S. Latte Art Exhibition Round 1 continued!  To learn all about this exciting, first-time event, go HERE. Activity Hall.

12 “3:30 p.m.:  U.S. Cup Tasters Championship Round 1! To find out the competitors and the schedule, go HERE. Activity Hall.

1:30p.m.: U.S. AeroPress Championship. At the Bunn booth, #553

2 p.m.: Head over to La Marzocco‘s booth #518 to hear a special announcement from Kent Bakke!

3 “4 p.m.:  U.S. Latte Art Exhibition Round 2!  To learn all about this exciting event, go HERE. Activity Hall.

5:30 p.m.: U.S. Barista Championship semifinalists announced! And U.S. Brewers Cup finalists announced! Activity Hall.

7 “11 p.m.: La Marzocco, Prima, and Counter Culture Coffee invite you to their party! Just head over to the Counter Culture Boston Training Center,  374 Somerville Ave, in Union Square. Food from Sofra Bakery & Cafe and cocktails (both with coffee and without).  Off site!

7 “10 p.m.:  Coffee Soirée, sponsored by Equator Coffees & Teas and South End Buttery! Everyone’s invited!  Featuring a latte art competition, food, and libations. Held at the South End Buttery, 37 Clarendon. Off site!
